Bathroom Plumbing Maintenance Tips

The bathroom is one of the most frequently used rooms in your home. Not only that, it is a room that has to be well maintained; if not, a plumbing emergency could easily surprise you at an inconvenient time. From the bathroom to the shower, the sink for maintaining sewers, bathroom plumbing is an important part of keeping your home running efficiently. Take note of the bathroom plumbing tips to help you better keep your bathroom and protect against poor conditions and plumbing emergencies.

Keeping your source of running water - that is, the tap (including the sink and bathtub faucets) - is essential for a successful bathroom experience, if you're taking a bath, wash your hands, or cleaning. Check out these tips to keep bathroom faucet taps to get the job well done:

    Unlike tubes, moving parts of a valve can quickly wear out over time and may need to be tightened or replaced more frequently than other areas of the pipeline.
    Repair leaky faucets immediately. This will help you avoid further damage to the fixtures and faucets. According to the Evironmental Protection Agency, a leaky faucet dripping on a drip per second wastes at least 3,000 liters of water per year - or the equivalent of what is necessary to take more than 180 showers.

    Aerator Clean their taps. Low-pressure water valve or the handle are usually caused by lime sludge accumulation and blocking small openings inside the gasifier. Clean the aerator using the following steps:

        Beside, carefully unscrew the aerator anti-clockwise rotating tap. If it will not extract, wraps the jaws of your pliers with duct tape and loosen the aerator with the pliers. Continue with the hand.

        Take aerator or spray head away.

        Use a small brush dipped in vinegar to remove sediment.

        Reassemble the aerator and screw it back into the tap.


Shower maintenance

Spray showers uneven develop when the holes are clogged with mineral deposits from the water. Follow these steps to clean it:

    Unscrew the nut collar shower.

    Thoroughly clean out holes and shower entry using a thin wire.

    Rinse the head with clean water.

    Reassemble the shower.

    Soak the shower in vinegar to remove mineral deposits. Specifically, place a cup of vinegar in a plastic bag and put it on the shower head. Hold it in place with a twist tie and let stand overnight. In the morning, remove the bag and clean the mineral deposits with a damp cloth.


WC Maintenance and leaks Find

 Did you know that your bathroom can be a primary source for the tank leaks? Checking the water level in the flush reservoir to make sure that the water does not overflow through the discharge tube (the tube in the middle of the tank with a small piece of tubing attached to it). Then follow these steps to correct the problem:

    If water is run into the discharge pipe, adjusting the filling valve until the water leaves approximately one inch below the top of the discharge tube. There may be a stamped water level mark on the side of the tank.

    Test the discharge valve mechanism, placing a few drops of food coloring in the tank.

    Check the cup after 15 minutes. If the water in the toilet has changed color, the ball or flapper is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Here's another tip to keep your bathroom in the best possible working condition:

    Do not use your toilet as a wastebasket. Do not clean the facial tissue, cotton balls, make-up pads, sanitary products and diapers as they do not dissolve and can clog the lines. Keep a trash container in each bathroom and mix these items away.


Preventing and correcting bathroom clogs

Clogs bathroom are no fun at all. Here are some ways to avoid them - and fix them when they occur:

    Once a week, run hot water down the drain to help keep it free flowing.

    Fix bathtubs and showers with filters that capture hair and soap chips. Clean the filters regularly.

    Avoid putting things in the sink or toilet that do not belong there.
